Knowing when depression needs help

By myarn On January 6, 2010 Under Legal Information

Depression is something that most people experience at one point in their lives. We experience many problems during our lifetime that is why it is but natural to feel depressed at times. But there are some persons whose depression become very, very serious. That is when those people really need a counseling.Because if the depression is not attended to then the consequences can be devastating. So let’s look at some signs so you know when you may need to seek help.

First of all as mentioned earlier we all fall into depression at different times in our lives. Things like struggles in marriage or relationships. Or depression can be caused by losing a loved one in our lives.  The reasons for depression that I see in my depression counseling practice varies so much. But knowing when to help someone in need is very important.

You can tell a person may need some counseling if the depression extends for a long period of time.Someone would need counseling already if you can notice that he/she is already depressed for days already.Or if someone has started to avoid social interaction then he/she already needs help too. As a family counselor San Diego I have seen all these symptoms.Once you encounter then you must help them by seeking help for them.

The reason you want to seek help is because often times a depressed person may hurt themselves if left to themselves. But there will be times when instead of hurting themselves they hurt others. The depression has already turned into anger if that happens. When a person feels helpless and hopeless he becomes enraged at his life.  That is when I use my anger management San Diego services to help them.Because anger is more dangerous than depression because it can hurt others already.

So as you can see depression is a serious condition. When you see it you need to get the person treated right away. Their safety and others safety could be at risk.
