This car is not covered under lemon laws. You bought it, you have to pay for it - it's that simple. None of what you described makes you eligible for protection under lemon laws. Lemon laws are designed to protect buyers of new cars from serious, chronic defects. Lemon laws do not cover poor maintenance, neglect, or abuse. This is why lemon laws don't cover used vehicles. You signed a contract and can't give it back.

Sorry, one of the lowest rated car of all time by Consumer Reports. Your best bet is to sell it and get something else instead of putting more $$$ into it. You'll only get an argument and misery from the dealer who sold it to you. If you feel like you have to fight this one, put a large sign on the car, "I bought this lemon from...." and park it in front of the dealer. Maybe then they will talk to you about a substitute. But since they sold the car, they probably aren't the ones you want to deal with anymore.

Check your state laws because some states allow lemon laws up to 100,000 miles. You should have taken that car back right away and made them give you another one.

sorry to tell you mate,

but it's true only new cars are covered, however may I suggest taking the car to another garage to fix the brakes, if you take it to the same spot they may not even be fixing it, but just telling you they did, or attempted to.

good luck!

The Missouri lemon law defines a lemon as one that has had 4 unsuccessful repairs or 30 business days out of service within shorter of 1 year or warranty length. Is a used car covered? Some states say yes but most say no. Only way to tell is to talk to an experienced Lemon Law lawyer near you. There's a free National List of Lemon Law Lawyers at this web page: http://www.ohiolemonlaw.com/locate-a-local-attorney.shtml

The term "lemon" does not apply to used cars. It sounds like you didn't check it at a shop before purchase. It's yours. Fix it and keep up on the payments.
